Software Engineer Intern

Engineering · Summer 2026 · Palo Alto, CA

About the team

ArcaLabs builds AI agents that run sell-side workflows for investment banks and PE funds. Engineering owns the agent runtime, data pipelines, eval harness, and the deliverable rendering pipeline that turns model output into pitch-ready Excel and PowerPoint. We are official FactSet AI Partners and the team behind Arcafeed (acquired).

About the role

We're hiring 1–2 SWE interns for Summer 2026 to ship code into production from day one. You'll sit with the founding engineering team in Palo Alto, own a real component of the platform, and see your work running inside top-tier banks before the summer ends.

This is not a coffee-fetching internship. The bar for our interns is the bar for our full-time engineers — and the same is true for the work and the trust.

What you'll do

  • Own a meaningful chunk of the agent runtime, eval harness, or data integration stack.
  • Work inside our E2B-based sandbox runtime — the layer that runs agent-generated Python and TypeScript safely against customer data.
  • Pair with Forward Deployed Engineers on a real customer deployment — sometimes inside the customer's office.
  • Ship production Python and TypeScript code, with code review from senior engineers.
  • Help us figure out which intern will get a strong return offer — by being that intern.

You might be a fit if you

  • Are a current undergraduate or graduate student in CS, math, physics, or a similar quantitative field.
  • Have shipped a non-trivial software project — open source, side project, course capstone, or prior internship.
  • Are comfortable in Python and TypeScript — or fluent in Python plus another typed language and willing to ramp on TS fast. Our entire control plane (Fastify API, Next.js web, Node runner) is TypeScript.
  • Read papers on agents, RAG, evals, or model post-training for fun.
  • Want to live in Palo Alto for the summer and ship full-time, on-site.

Bonus points

  • Have built with the Anthropic SDK or Claude Agent SDK — tool use, streaming, sub-agents, sandboxed execution.
  • Background in finance — even if it's just a markets class, a trading bot, or a hedge fund summer.
  • Have built a production-quality side project that real users have used.

Compensation

Competitive intern hourly rate, housing stipend, and daily breakfast, coffee, and snacks, plus complimentary fitness center access in Palo Alto. Strong return offer pipeline for new-grad full-time roles.
