About the team
ArcaLabs builds AI agents that perform sell-side tasks (public comps, IC memos, pitchbook strip profiles, earnings comp analysis) end-to-end. We're partnered with some of the largest financial data providers, including FactSet and CapIQ. Our founding team previously built Arcafeed, a SaaS tool for buy-side analysts, which was acquired in late 2025.
About the role
We're hiring SWE interns to ship code into production from day one. Timing is flexible: internships run 10–12+ weeks, and we'll work around your school calendar. You'll sit with the founding team in Palo Alto, own real components of the platform, and see your work running inside top-tier banks before your internship ends.
This is not a coffee-fetching internship. The bar for our interns is the bar for our full-time engineers, and the same is true for the work and the trust. Our interns have owned meaningful parts of our product, including deep systems work like Hardpan.
Some of the work you'll do
- Own a meaningful chunk of our agent runtime: retrieval, memory, evals, or the data pipelines behind them.
- Build infrastructure for our agents and agentic workflows: sandboxes, VMs, lifecycle management, observability, and more.
- Work on evals and observability for our agents, so that we can ship better agents faster.
- Pair with Forward Deployed Engineers on a real customer deployment, sometimes inside the customer's office.
- Ship production code.
- Help us figure out which intern will get a strong return offer, by being that intern.
You might be a fit if you
- Are a current undergraduate or graduate student in CS, math, physics, or a similar quantitative field.
- Have shipped a non-trivial software project: open source, side project, course capstone, or prior internship.
- Are comfortable in Python and TypeScript, or fluent in Python plus another typed language. Our entire control plane is TypeScript.
- Read papers on agents, distributed systems, or model post-training for fun.
- Want to live in Palo Alto for the internship and ship full-time, on-site.
Bonus points
- Have built with agent SDKs: tool use, streaming, sub-agents, sandboxed execution.
- Prior experience building with systems languages like Go or Rust.
- Background in finance, even if it's just a markets class, a trading bot, or a hedge fund summer.
- Have built a production-quality side project with real users.
Compensation
Competitive intern hourly rate and housing stipend. Our team is based in Palo Alto, and interns work on-site with us. Strong return offer pipeline for new-grad full-time roles.
