About the team
ArcaLabs builds AI agents that run sell-side workflows for investment banks and PE funds. We're a small founding team in Palo Alto — ex-bankers, ex-fintech founders, and senior engineers from the team behind Arcafeed (acquired). We are the official FactSet AI Partner.
About the role
We're hiring a Generalist — the kind of person who can ship code on Monday, jump on an MD's customer call on Tuesday, write a product spec on Wednesday, and put together a board update slide on Thursday. This is the highest-leverage seat at an early-stage startup, and the role we'd give to the kind of person who built and exited their own thing in college.
You'll work directly with the founders, pick up whatever the company needs that week, and own outcomes you wouldn't get to touch for years anywhere else.
What you'll do
- Ship code into the agent runtime, the workflow tools, or the customer dashboard whenever engineering needs another set of hands.
- Sit on customer calls with MDs, partners, and CIOs — you'll be in the room and expected to contribute, not take notes.
- Run pilots end-to-end: scope the workflow, build it, demo it, and bring it to revenue.
- Write product specs, customer briefs, and the occasional investor update.
- Pick up whatever else falls through the cracks — recruiting pipelines, ops, tooling, data analysis, marketing assets.
You might be a fit if you
- Have a real interest in finance — markets, M&A, private capital — and want to spend the next several years building inside it.
- Can ship code. Doesn't have to be your superpower, but you should be able to commit a feature or fix a bug without flagging engineering.
- Have a product instinct: you can hold a customer's workflow in your head, write a spec, and recognize when a feature is wrong before it ships.
- Are comfortable in front of customers — a banker, a CIO, a procurement lead — and can hold a conversation about both their book and our system.
- Have built and shipped something real on your own. A startup, a project, a product, a paper, a podcast — anything where you owned the outcome.
Bonus points
- Founder, exited founder, or first-employee experience at an early-stage startup.
- Banking, PE, or equity research background; or a CS background with a strong markets hobby.
- You once explained a 10-K to a friend and they actually understood it.
Compensation
$150K – $240K + meaningful equity. Full benefits and daily breakfast, coffee, and snacks, plus complimentary fitness center access in Palo Alto. The role flexes title and scope based on what you're best at — the offer reflects that.
